Along with the day job at Dataxcel I also act as a board member of the IDMA which unlike allot of other European regulatory bodies is a voluntary run organisation by a group of people that give their time because they are passionate about the Direct Marketing Industry in Ireland.

The IDMA’s primary focus is the need for the industry to understand and show case best practise in Data Driven Marketing along with sharing ideas and knowledge.

A number of us have been working hard in the background to restructure the current Irish MPS or otherwise known as the Mail Preference Service.

The MPS is a compliance guideline required by all marketing professionals to abide by advertising standards authority for best practise.

The MPS is the only national suppression file in Ireland which represents individuals who have expressly requested NOT to receive Direct mail from third party brands.

The MPS is now available to download using a secure data process from the idma site www.idma.ie and is available FREE to paid up members of the IDMA.

You can download the data by date stamp which allows you to suppress or flag the individuals against your in – house data files. We also recently added eircodes to the file from the collection point 12th December 2015.

If you would like more information on the MPS or indeed the IDMA PM me or email me on lorcan.lynch@dataxcel.ie

Regards

Lorcan
