Postcodes for Ireland, Over 1 million new email records and we want to buy You a drink at the TFMA

Hello, We just wanted to share with you this month a few updates on the Irish data market:

Postcodes Ireland is to have Postcodes in place by March 2015 and they will be unique to every letterbox. The new postcode will be comprised of seven digits providing a unique identification for every letterbox in the State. The “unit specific” code will be in the format A65 B2CD with the first three digits relating to the postal district.

Over 1m New Email Records DataXcel have been appointed to list manage new to market quality sourced email data sets from two of Ireland’s largest telcos totalling just under 1 million records. Data Protection Updates

We attended a recent DP conference and thought we would share some updates on the EU wide DP legislation:

Realistic timeline for approval by all relevant stakeholders 2015
Realistic enactment to law early 2017
The word Explicit is gone, it’s now about consent
Expect stricter enforcement of DP legislation
